8 Ride or Die Beauty Products

Hey friend, thank you SO much for being here for my very first blog post! For those of you who don’t know, I am a licensed hairstylist in Springfield, Missouri. I’ve been licensed for 9 years now (uh WUT?) and have picked up quite a few super useful profucts that I cannot live without.

I wouldn’t call myself a product junkie or hoarder though! My beauty routine has to stay low maintenance and realistic while working and taking care of my kids! So, rest assured that this list isn’t going to get out of hand or extra!

All these photos are linked, I do not recieve any sort of compesation for this. These are my honest opinions based off experience.

Reusable, machine washable makeup wipes

I’m obsessed with these. A friend of mine turned me onto these a couple years ago and I haven’t purchased one disposable makeup wipe since!

One side is for cleansing and the other is for exfoliating. I know it sounds weird. Like, how is this thing going to take my makeup off with just water? IDK but I’m telling you it’s magical.

I LOVE not buying makeup wipes that have a crap ton of alcohol in them. They dry out my face and make it feel super tight but not in a cute or youthful way.

4 cloths are $9.47 from Walmart and will last YEARS! Less waste, way less money and much better for your skin in my opinion.

Silk or satin pillowcase

This is a game changer, especially for the curly girls. I’ve noticed a lot of people have heard of satin pillowcases but don’t act on it?!

Satin pillowcases are amazing for reducing friction on your hair while you sleep. The word friction doesn’t sound too scary but it really can be. Tossing and turning, even shifting on your pillow can cause your hair to frizz up, dry out and break if it’s already compromised.

If you’re not already on board with the satin pillowcase for the hair benefits, do it for the skin benefits. Less wrinkles and healthy hair are worth the $4.98 investment!

heatless curler

I LOVE this heatless curler. My hair legitimately hasn’t looked this shiny and pretty since I was a kid! It’s because I’m not using anywhere near the amount of heat that I was before!

I have a couple tutorials in my highlights on my instagram @coloredbykc it’s easy to use and gives me really nice curls in 5 seconds! 100% worth the$29 investment.

Bliss Pro AHA, BHA, PHA Liquid exfoliant

I think I found this product by chance on TikTok one day but WOW, I feel like I can’t ever exfoliate enough with scrubs and my reusable makeup wipe. But this stuff basically melts all the dead skin off your face with no scrubbing and leaves it extremely smooth!

It does slightly burn for the sensitive skinned ladies but you get used to it. And beauty is pain, amiright? $19.99 from Target.

Revlon Blowdry brush

I was terrified of this because drugstore brands get a bad rep for getting WAY to hot (a lot of the time the rumors are true!) BUT I do really like this blow dry brush for an easy blow out when I don’t feel like pulling out my roundbrush.

I will caution you, this tool gets really hot. I use mine on low only because high is way too much heat for fine, colored treated hair like mine.

All in all, I do recommend this tool with a heat protectant for a voluminous hair day! Worth the investment at about $40.

Jade Eye Mask

This mask has been a favorite with my guests at the salon!

The benefits of a jade mask are reduced redness, puffines, improves lymphatic drainage, encourages circulation and is an amazing tool to add to your self care routine.

Jade is naturally a cooler temperature and feels refreshing on the skin but you can also warm it up in a warm bowl of water in the winter! Worth the investment at $13.99!

dermaplaner Facial Razors

Dermaplaning has become a big part of my skincare routine.

Like I said earlier, I feel like I can’t exfoliate enough and this does the trick! Be gentle, don’t use on pimples of course and clean it thoroughly when you’re done using it.

Super worth the investment at $9.99 for a pack of three.

Scalp Scrubber

Use this. It feels soooo good!

There are a couple different ways you can use this; on dry hair to exfoliate dead skin off your scalp or with your shampoo to emulsify the product in really well getting all the areas your hands might have trouble getting to.

Personally I use it because it feels incredible, the other stuff is just a bonus. Totally worth the small investment at $7.95!

That’s it friends. All my favorite products in one blog post!

I hope you enjoyed this and are planning to invest in something new for your beauty or self care routine!

Take care of yourself and we’ll talk soon!

xoxo,

Kelsey
